This photograph was taken from the same overlook where the
Davis Peak photograph was taken. Snowfield Peak is on the far left,
Colonial Peak is the tall, bare, peak in the middle, and Pyramid Peak is on the right. Paul Bunyans Stump is just to the left of Pyramid Peak. They comprise the
Skagit Gneiss Complex formed some 90 million years ago.
The storm clouds from earlier in the day were breaking up, but the challenge was to get a photograph without sun caused flares (avoided by holding my hand above the lends just outside of the frame). A sliver of the Thunder Arm of Diablo Lake shows in the bottom left.
